Jilin Province is a major traditional industrial base and commodity grain production base in China. It enjoys rich natural resources, sound ecological environment, outstanding advantage in agriculture and manufacturing, and sound foundation of science and technology and education.

Marching into the new century, under the correct leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Jilin Province has been implementingin an all-round waythe strategy of“Advancing the province through science and technology, Spearheaded by opening up, Making breakthroughs in township economy, and Using human resources to invigorate development” to facilitate the construction of an industrial province, a sci-tech and education province and an ecological province. The economy has maintained a sustainable and rapid development. The society has progressed comprehensively and the people’s living standards have continuously improved.

The strategy of revitalizing Northeast China and other traditional industrial bases put forward by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council has provided Jilin Province with an important opportunity of achieving faster and better development. We will firmly grasp this historical opportunity, adhere to the guidance by the scientific development concept, the driving force of reform and innovation and the core of quickening the development, and further enhance the consciousness of development, competition and crisis.
