1.1 Introduction to technical achievements

The project focuses on domain knowledge graphs and deeply integrates with multiple disciplines such as dermatology, mathematical statistics, information theory, artificial intelligence, and software engineering to conduct research on a medical big data resource integration platform, guiding data collection, governance, integration, and application.

By now, the project has completed the validation of the Concept Verification Center of Jilin University and is ready for engineering.

1.2 Technical analysis and advantages

1.2.1 Core technical analysis

The ownership of the project’s technical achievements belongs to Changchun Tongda Data Technology Co., Ltd. The independently developed “Skin Tumor Data Resource Integration Platform” is the first theory and method in China. Based on this theory and method, the platform adopts advanced software development architectures and technologies such as distributed, microservices, non-relational databases, and zero code development, solidifying the full chain data processing process from data collection to application, and introducing advanced concepts such as data resources, thematic data, and standardized datasets. At present, the platform as a whole is in a leading position in China.

1.2.2 Technological innovation and advantages

(1) The project proposes a method for defining data resource conceptual patterns based on domain knowledge graphs, which solves the problem of ensuring the adequacy of data resource dimensions.

(2) The project proposes a multimodal and standardized dataset definition and preparation method for skin tumors, which solves the problem of providing high-quality data for AI assisted diagnostic model training.

(3) The project integrates clinical business and clinical data and forms a closed loop, constructing a client model that transforms from transaction driving to knowledge driving + data driving.

1.3 Main products and applications of technical achievements

The main products of the project’s technical achievements are the clinical case management system and skin tumor data resource integration platform. The application scope of each technical achievement is as follows:

(1) Clinical Case Management System

With the domain knowledge graph as the core, integrating clinical case management and clinical data processing businesses, while completing clinical business management, it realizes the collection, processing, and application of clinical data, solves the problem of continuous, timely, and complete collection of clinical data, empowers clinical practice, enhances the willingness of clinical doctors to use, assists doctors in clinical diagnosis and treatment, and transforms from “business driving” to “data driving + “knowledge driving”, and improves clinical pathways.

In addition, in collaboration with the data resource integration platform, a multi-center data collection, collection, sharing, and distribution mechanism is constructed using a “1+N” model to support data resource construction.

(2) Skin Tumor Data Resource Integration Platform

With domain knowledge graphs as the core, it integrates multiple data sources (web crawlers, clinical case management systems, ETL, etc.), providing raw data, hierarchical data, thematic data, and multimodal standardized dataset management functions for structured data, semi-structured data, and unstructured data, providing high-quality datasets for artificial intelligence, unbiased sample data for data analysis, and real teaching materials for talent cultivation. It provides authoritative data resources for epidemic management, serving medicine, education, and research.

By now, the technical achievements of this project are in the final trial stage.

1.5 Technical team

Since its establishment in 2023, Changchun Tongda Data Technology Co., Ltd. has been committed to the research and production of health and medical big data products. The main responsibilities of the project team principals are as follows:

(1) Yao Chunli: Legal representative/Chairman, part-time, she is responsible for determining the company’s development direction and providing guidance on professional knowledge in the field. She is a renowned domestic expert and leading figure in dermatology in the province, familiar with pain points, solutions, and development directions in the project industry.

(2) Sun Weijia, shareholder/general manager, full-time, he is responsible for company management, operation, and product research and development under the constraints of the company’s development direction. He has been engaged in teaching and scientific research for 33 years, and operated the enterprise for 17 years.

2. Market potential analysis

(1) Policy support will continue to strengthen

With the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the deepening of the digital economy strategy, the country will further strengthen policy support for the health and medical big data industry, and introduce more policy documents and planning the plans that are conducive to the development of the industry. Especially in accelerating the construction of digital infrastructure, improving the construction of digital economy talent team, and strengthening the guarantee of digital economy system, it will provide a more stable and favorable development environment for the industry.

(2) Technological innovation capabilities will continue to improve

In the coming years, with the continuous development and maturity of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things, there will be more technological innovations and application demonstrations in the field of healthcare. Especially in areas such as image recognition, natural semantic analysis, and deep learning, there will be more breakthroughs and progress. At the same time, there will be more practice and exploration in key technologies such as data lake and master data management. These technological innovations will greatly enhance the value mining ability and application effectiveness of health and medical big data.

In the coming years, with the continuous development and growth of the health and medical big data industry, more emerging application areas will emerge in addition to traditional application areas such as clinical decision support, precise diagnosis and treatment, smart hospital construction, and public health monitoring and early warning. For example, in some fields such as genetic testing, drug development, insurance pricing, etc., utilizing biological big data for precise matching and personalized services; it utilizes the health big data for remote monitoring and intervention in some areas such as chronic disease management, exercise and fitness, and psychological counseling; it utilizes the business operation big data for traceability and risk control in the fields of drug distribution, drug supervision, and drug quality.

In summary, the healthcare big data industry market is still in its early stages of development, and in the future, with policy support, technological innovation, and widespread application, it will usher in rapid development.

3. Financing Needs and Stage Goals

By now, the project has been invested by shareholders with R&D expenses of 5 million yuan and operating expenses of 1 million yuan. The team has received relevant research funding support of RMB 5.05 million.

The plan for the next three years is to raise 15 million yuan, which will be used for product research and sales system establishment after the funds are in place. The goals for each stage are as follows:

(1) In the first year, it will improve the integration platform for skin tumor data resources, clinical case management system, and data collection tools, and complete the development of security mechanisms for data sharing and exchange; it will conduct market promotion and product sales, mainly for free use by key users, industry exhibitions, conferences and salons, establish distribution channels, and related personnel salaries.

(2) Second year: Develop new products, including clinical diagnostic models, semi-structured knowledge extraction, knowledge graph mining tools, etc.; consolidate key users, industry exhibitions, conferences, and salons, and expand distribution channels.

(3) Third year: Research and development of new products, with a focus on clinical auxiliary diagnosis and treatment systems based on causal inference.

The market value of the project’s technical achievements is approximately 15 million yuan.

4.2 Social benefits

After the engineering application of the technical achievements of project, they can be widely applied to domestic public health research institutions, domestic 3A hospitals, and customers with data processing service needs. It will provide the skin tumor data resource integration platform and data resource construction consulting services for domestic 3A hospitals, especially 3A teaching hospitals; in addition, it can provide clinical case management systems and data processing services for associate professors, professors, master’s supervisors, doctoral supervisors, and especially discipline leaders engaged in scientific research and clinical practice in 3A hospitals.
